The Trane VAL8882 is a critical component in heat pump system efficiency and comfort and measures 12" long. This 24V coil four-way reversing valve reverses the refrigerant flow direction in heat pumps. In heating mode, the valve guides warm refrigerant flow from the outdoor unit to the indoor unit, and then into your room. On the other hand, cooling mode changes the flow direction, so the system can take heat from your indoor environment and dump it outside.
