The Xylem-Hoffman Specialty 401887 Ft030C-8 2 Inch F&T Trap 30 is a float and thermostatic steam trap used in various low, medium, and high-pressure steam systems. It functions by removing air and condensate from steam lines without allowing steam to escape through the use of a bimetallic thermostat and a float mechanism. Condensate fills the trap and causes the float to rise, activating a discharge valve. In order to keep steam from escaping, the bimetallic thermostat opens during starting and shuts as steam temperature rises. Because it can function against back pressure and manage low pressure air, this trap is perfect for heat exchange equipment and applications with varying loads. Its cast iron structure guarantees longevity in rough settings.
