The Johnson Controls A11A-1 Low-Temperature Cutout is intended in HVAC systems to avoid freezing of coils and pipes. It works like a switch that turns off the cooling system when the temperature that the remote bulb will sense falls below the set point that can be fixed to 35-45 degrees. The A11A-1 uses a glass tube that is long and thin and is referred to as a capillary which has a temperature-dependent fluid or gas. This has been made possible through the versatility of the 4-foot capillary in positioning the sensor bulb independently of the control.
