The Johnson Controls A11D-5 Low-Temperature Cutout is an application safety device for an HVAC system that protects coils against freezing. There is an additional bulb temperature sensor located at a main control unit, linked to it with a 4-feet capillary tube. Temperature ranges of 35°F to 45°F are typical, and when temperature sensed through the bulb decreases, the A11D-5 shuts off the system to protect coils. The electrical switch is of single pole double through type and gives freedom in the method of down conversion of the system. Advantages are Minimizing expensive coil freeze-ups, enhancing the system’s performance, and protecting the equipment from operating in sever weather conditions.
