The Johnson Controls V48AC-2 is a three-way pressure-actuated water regulating valve used for hydronic heating and cooling systems. It has a cast brass body with a 3/4-pipe thread connection and measures a mere 2-1/8 x 2-1/2 inches. Internally, a pressure-sensing element with a 30- capillary tube measures system pressure. When the pressure drops below a certain level 145 and 190 psi for the V48AC-2 the valve opens and more hot or cold water is allowed to pass through the system. On the other hand, when pressure gets to the set point, the valve shuts and controls the water flow and system temperature. This valve is particularly suitable for use in situations where the pressure variation determines the flow of water.
