The Schneider Electric (Barber Colman) MP-5513 is a 24V single-pole single-throw (SPST) electret developed for use in a variety of HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) applications. This little gadget converts an input signal of 0–10 VDC into a proportional on/off control signal by the use of an electrical converter. Think of a translator that transforms a low-voltage signal into a controllable form that you can use on your HVAC system. The voltage that powers the MP-5513 ranges from 0 to 10 volts DC. The electract produces an on/off signal with a duty cycle that matches the input voltage based on the voltage it receives. Equipment can be controlled proportionately when there is a larger input voltage since it results in an output signal with a longer "on" period.
