The Johnson Controls A72AP-1 is a high current two-pole single throw DPST temperature control switch intended for use in applications where it is expected to work under strenuous conditions such as refrigeration and HVAC. It also works as a switch where it turns equipment on or off depending on the set temperatures for the equipment. A bulb containing a liquid is a remote sensor that increases or decreases in size depending on the temperature. When the set temperature is attained, the bellows trigger a switch which either breaks or makes an electrical circuit. This regulates equipment usage, to keep temperatures at the required level. It can be used for cold storage and freezers as well as for general comfort cooling since its operating range is between -10°F and 65°F.
