The Johnson Controls A70AA-15 is a single pole thermostat that is used to set a range of temperatures approximately the HVAC systems. A 6” capillary tube measures the temperature and the signal is then fed to the control. It is placed where you want the temperature of its vicinity to be controlled, for example in a room or a duct. Depending on the temperature the liquid or gas within the capillary changes in volume. This change in pressure switches inside to turn on your heating or cooling system to maintain the desired temperature range of -10°F to 65°F. The differential range is variable from 1°F to 30°F and controls how sensitive the control is to changes in the temperature.
