The Johnson Controls A19ABC-83 is a single-stage, remote bulb temperature control designed to regulate heating or cooling equipment based on temperature sensed at a distance. It features a sensor bulb connected by a 6" capillary tube to a switch housed in a NEMA 1 rated enclosure. As the temperature surrounding the bulb fluctuates between 100°F and 300°F, the switch triggers based on a user-adjustable differential setting (between 7°F and 28°F). This SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw) switch can then turn on or off heating or cooling equipment to maintain the desired temperature. This remote bulb control offers several benefits. Firstly, by placing the sensor bulb strategically within an HVAC system's ductwork or near the equipment it controls, it ensures accurate temperature readings even in environments where ambient air temperature might not reflect the true thermal conditions. Additionally, the adjustable differential setting allows for fine-tuning system operation, reducing unnecessary cycling and improving energy efficiency.
