The Zilmet ZHT8-15 Hydronic Expansion Tank accommodates changes in hydronic fluid volume as system temperature varies. Its 2.1-gallon capacity provides the internal volume required for expansion, while the 1/2-inch NPT connection establishes the threaded interface with the hydronic piping in HVAC systems. As heated water expand, the tank accepts the additional fluid volume and maintains pressure within the connected circuit. When the fluid cools and contracts, stored fluid can return toward the system. This expansion control reduces pressure fluctuations during normal heating and cooling cycles.
