Trane VAL9601 is a reversing valve that is particularly developed to be used in Trane HVAC systems Heat pumps are devices that can heat and cool your home, and this is an important component of them. The control of refrigerant flow direction in the system is done by the reversing valve. When the valve is set to heating mode, then heated refrigerant can go to the indoor unit to provide heat. The valve reverses flow to expel hot gas and to draw cool refrigerant to be used in air conditioning indoors when in cooling mode.
