The Lochinvar & A.O. Smith 100110849 Upper Probe is an accessory of the HVAC systems that are used to measure the temperature of flue gases. These readings are necessary for efficient combustion to avoid the formation of condensates and for operating the equipment safely. The probe is based thermoelectric effect whereby the temperature of the flue gases is sensed by a temperature sensor and converted to an electrical signal. This signal is then fed to the control board of the HVAC system where it is processed to establish the changes needed to the combustion process.
