Trane SEN0391 Thermistor Sensor

The Trane SEN0391 is a Thermistor Sensor, a component that is part of the resistor that alters its electrical resistance to temperature. In HVAC, it is usually situated in the air handler or ductwork to measure the temperature of the air. Because of the temperature changes, the resistance of the sensor also varies. The change in resistance is carried to the HVAC control board where the system then adjusts the heating and cooling system. When the temperatures are closely monitored in the air, the sensor assists in achieving a comfortable indoor climate and optimum performance of the HVAC system.
