The Tecumseh K90-48 Overload Kit protects a compatible compressor motor circuit by responding to excessive electrical current and motor temperature. Its overload mechanism opens the compressor circuit when operating conditions exceed the component's protective threshold, then permits circuit restoration after the overload condition has cleared. Installed in the compressor electrical assembly, the kit provides motor protection at the compressor connection point. In HVAC systems, its thermal and current-responsive action prevents sustained overload conditions from continuing through the compressor circuit.
