The Trane SWT3206 Low Pressure Switch 50/70 PSI is a safety switch activated by your system when the refrigerant pressure is too low to protect the equipment it's in. It opens an electrical circuit when the refrigerant pressure drops below 50 or 70 PSI. This action tells a control system to shut down the compressor and not to run any more until the pressure is back. This used in residential and light commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
