The Carrier KAACS0201PTC Start Assist PTC Kit is a device that is used for the starting of a compressor of HVAC equipment such as furnaces and air conditioners. During start-up, these systems need an initial rush of current to overcome the inertia of the fan motor. The PTC kit works like a temporary boost to offer this additional push to kick-start the compressor in the right manner. This helps to lighten the load on the compressor and maybe increase its durability so that the efficiency of the HVAC system is increased.
