THT2212
The Trane THT2212 is a single pole single throw thermal cut-off switch, commonly called a safety device. This critical component is what prevents your Trane HVAC equipment from overheating. The THT2212 cuts the power supply by turning an internal switch when ambient temperatures are above a predetermined setpoint usually 265°F. It stops any damage to your compressor and other vital parts. At a lower reset point often around 35°F the switch automatically resets and reestablishes power. In other words, the Trane thermal cut-off switch is a safety thermostat that makes sure your Trane HVAC system operates safely.
