Trane CNT1170 SPST Defrost Control–70°F Open/37°F Close

The Trane CNT1170 is a defrost control board for the Trane HVAC systems. This critical component regulates the cycle of defrost and has a fine operation in cold climates. It is a temperature switch and operates on the single Pole Single Throw principle. The temperature sensor S1 is set at a predetermined level of 37°F or lower when the temperature drops below this level the switch opens and disconnects the circuit to start the defrosting process. When the temperature rises to another certain point 70°F, the switch turns off and breaks the circuit of the defrosting cycle is over and the normal cooling cycle can begin.
