The Trane SFCTR3P50A120VL is a specially designed 3.3" long contactor for reliable control of high-power electrical loads in various types of HVAC systems. The typical capacity is up to 3 horsepower. This three-pole heavy-duty contactor can be used for easy control of three-phase circuits. It is a heavy-duty relay, with an electromagnet opening and closing connections. The contactor is activated when a 120-volt AC signal is applied to the coil, allowing a high current of 50 amps to flow through the circuit when the contacts are drawn together. After de-energizing the coil the contacts spring open, stopping the flow of electricity. Power cables are connected securely to the lug-style connectors.
