The Supco SIG102 Round Hot Surface Ignitor generates the heat required to ignite gas burners by reaching high operating temperatures during the startup cycle. Its silicon carbide heating element rapidly glows when electrical current passes through it, allowing dependable burner ignition in HVAC systems such as furnaces, boilers, unit heaters, and commercial heating equipment. This round ignitor is mounted near the burner assembly and connected to the ignition control circuit where direct flame ignition is necessary.
