Rheem-Ruud 45-42374-83 Flame Sensor

The Rheem-Ruud 45-42374-83 Flame Sensor is an anti-flame device that is used in most of the Rheem-Ruud gas-fired furnaces and boilers and may be used in others too. It is effective when your furnace does it’s job and ignites and the flame sensor works. Located close to the burner assembly, it monitors the flame’s existence with the assistance of a photoconductive cell or a thermocouple. These components are able to sense heat and light and these are emitted as a result of burning of the gas. In this manner, the flame sensor is sending this signal to the furnace control board constantly.
