The Refrigerant R438A-25 Tank Refrigerant R438A is used as a refrigerant charge in chillers and retrofit operations where compatibility with the existing mineral oil elements in HVAC systems. Having a pressure of about 25 PSI in the cylinder, it gets pumped into the refrigeration circuit of the system to take up heat in the evaporator and give off heat in the condenser so that the temperature can be reduced in controlled measures. It is added into the system by the technicians when they are installing the system or servicing it to ensure that the intended cooling capacity is preserved.
