The Trane PAN3217 Drain Pan is an accessory that is used to replace a damaged or worn out one in Trane HVAC systems. It is a tray that holds condensate drain water produced during operation, made of plastic or galvanized steel. Condensate fluid produced from the evaporative process in the refrigeration system of a split system air conditioner or heat pump is managed and channeled by the drain pan of this system, the drain pan is located at the base underneath the interior unit of the air conditioning/heat pump. This saves your walls and floors from future leaks and also prevents water from damaging the surrounding area.
