Rheem furnace not starting:

Furnace's start problem occurs because of many reasons. Read the below article to find out why your furnace is not starting.

Power problem:

  • Look at the thermostat battery is charged
  • If the battery is discharged, then replace it
  • And then set the thermostat at heat, and the fan set on auto

The problem within the breaker box:

  • Check your furnace breaker box
  • Breaker is tripped
  • It came to the middle position, then set it on and reset the breaker

Troubleshooting of pressure switch:

  • Locate the furnace pressure switch on the side of the furnace.
  • Make sure the switch is on
  • Check your furnace has cut off. That prevents the furnace from running when the blower cover is open.
  • Make sure that the cover is closed

Solution for condensate pump problem:

  • In a high-efficiency condenser, furnace water is created as a byproduct
  • A condensate pump is used to remove extra water
  • Pumps have an overflow of safety switches
  • Check your condensate pump motor works properly and there is no blockage
  • Clear blockage or call to service professional

Safety switches troubleshooting:

  • When the furnace is running on power, then it is possible that the furnace is in a lockout
  • Modern furnaces have many switches that shut down the furnace when it detects an unsafe condition
  • Every time a lockout happens, the furnace will use flashing lights as color codes to identify the source of the shutdown
  • This color code is unique to each model
  • These color codes help to understand the problem
  • If you do not understand, then inform professionals

Failed flame sensor or igniter may create problems in the furnace heating process.

  • Start the power supply and check your furnace works correctly

Troubleshoot the ignitor:

  • Detach the upper and lower panel of the furnace
  • Drag out the old ignitor from the mounting bracket
  • Disconnect the wire from an ignitor
  • Substitute the new ignitor
