Tecumseh K90-15 Overload

The Tecumseh K90-15 Overload responds to excessive motor current or heat by changing the electrical status of the motor protection circuit. Its overload mechanism monitors the motor's operating condition and opens the circuit when the internal protective threshold is reached in HVAC systems. After the abnormal condition subsides, the overload follows its specified reset operation before normal electrical continuity is able to be restored. The component works directly within the motor circuit rather than controlling the motor's mechanical output. This protection blocks continued operation during an overload condition and reduces the possibility of excessive electrical load on the connected equipment motor.
