The Amana-Goodman 20224302 ignition kit is needed for proper ignition of the gas furnaces and boilers in the HVAC conditioning systems. This kit is usually made up of parts such as an igniter, electrodes and possibly a transformer all of which are used to ignite and maintain the combustion process. An igniter is usually a hot surface or glow plug and its function is to supply the first spark or heat to fuel the air mixture. Electrodes in the main function as an electric conductor or pathways through which current reaches the igniter. If there is a transformer, it raises the voltage to the right level for the igniter’s work.
