The Amana-Goodman HKSX10XC 10kW electric heat kit is designed to provide supplemental heat for compatible air handlers or furnaces in residential HVAC systems. It operates through the application of electric current through high-resistance heating elements which in turn emit heat in to the flow of the HVAC system. This heated air will then pass through the coconut mat to go through the rooms of the home through the duct system. This particular model does not come with a circuit breaker, that must be fitted separately.
