The Trane SWT3172 is an electrical high-pressure switch manufactured exclusively for the protection of Trane HVAC appliances like furnaces, and air conditioners among others. It serves as a safety valve since it always checks the pressure inside the system. At some point, pressure rises to a certain level of about 800 PSI, and the switch turns the system off to avoid harm from the increased pressure.
