The Heatcraft Refrigeration SBFSE-B-Z Thermal Expansion Valve is used, to control the flow of refrigerant, in refrigeration and air conditioning HVAC systems. It operates by detecting the evaporator temperature and pressure conditions and using the internal opening of the valve to regulate the flow entering the evaporator coil. The valve, which has a capacity range of 1-1/4 to 2 tons and 3/8" x 1/2" ODF connections, is incorporated, into the liquid line and evaporator inlet during system assembly. It assists in sustaining constant levels, of superheat and provides stable cooling performance.
