Trane SEN1457 Flame Sensor

The Trane SEN1457 is a safety-critical component for a Trane gas furnace that prevents disruption to safe operation. This flame sensor is constantly watching that a flame is present when the furnace is in operation. It feels like watching someone’s eyes following the flame signal. If the flame is unexpectedly extinguished, the quickly recognizes the absence and sends a signal to the furnace control board. It sets off a safety shut-off which stops the gas flow and prevents things like gas leaks and carbon monoxide buildup.
