Trane ROD0159 Flame Rod

The Trane ROD0159 Flame Rod is a critical safety component in Trane gas furnaces. A 6.5" long slender metallic rod, usually placed inside the burner assembly. During normal operation, the flame heats the rod and produces a small electrical current. The signal from this current is sent to furnace control board. This current is taken as The control board signals a flame and then the gas flow is allowed to continue. But if the flame goes out, the Trane ROD0159 cools down quickly. As a safety precaution to prevent When a gas leak is detected, the control board disconnects the gas supply.
