Sporlan Controls 168792 5-Ton Thermal Expansion Valve 3/8" X 1/2" Sweat ERZE-5GA

The Sporlan Controls 168792 is a thermal expansion valve ERZE-5GA with a capacity of 5-ton for refrigeration and HVAC systems. This particular model has a 3/8 inch inlet connection and ½ inch outlet connection with sweat fittings. The refrigerant that flows through the valve comes across a temperature-sensing bulb. This bulb is sensitive to the evaporator temperature and when the temperature is high or low the valve opens or closes respectively. As the temperature increases, the bulb enlarges and pulls the valve allowing more of the refrigerant to flow. On the other hand, the bulb will shrink when the temperature is low which limits refrigerant flows.
