Lennox 20J90 Electrode/Spark Ignitor

The Lennox 20J90 is a spark ignitor or an electrode, which is an essential part of gas-fired furnaces and boilers. It starts the combustion process by creating a voltage that jump-starts the gas burner into flame. The spark ignitor feature provided here does not require the pilot light to burn continuously, improving energy efficiency and fuel consumption. In use, the ignitor gets a signal from the furnace control board in the form of an electrical current. This signal produces a high voltage spark that bridges the electrode tip and the burner assembly and thus ignites the gas and begins a safe and reliable heating process.
