Trane COL15628 Electronic Expansion Coil

The Trane COL15628 is an electronic expansion coil, an essential part of Trane HVAC systems with electronically commutated motors. Unlike conventional coils with fixed valves, the COL15628 dynamically changes refrigerant flow by the cooling requirements of the system. This fine control is provided by holding the valve in position with an EC motor-driven valve positioner, which controls the exact volume of refrigerant entering the coil. To do this, the higher efficiency, better temperature control, and quieter operation compared with conventional coils.
