Trane CTR1349 3-Pole Contactor 40A 24V Coil

The Trane CTR1349 is a 3-pole coil contactor rated at 40 Amps at 24 Volts. Chillers, rooftop units, and packaged terminal air conditioners (PTACs) depend on it. When energized by a 24-volt control signal the contactor coil creates a magnetic field that closes the 3 sets of contacts, providing a path for high current loads such as compressor motors. It means that the HVAC system can be controlled and automated remotely, allowing (among other things) the starting and stopping of compressors, switching between heating and cooling modes, and controlling fan operation. The main advantages of the contactor are increased reliability of the system by isolating high voltage circuits and preventing electrical arcing.
