Trane CPT2461 Capacitor 1 MFD 450V

The Trane CPT2461 is a 1 uF capacitor with a voltage rating of 450 VAC. It is an inactive electrical device that holds electric charge and releases it when required. In HVAC equipment, capacitors are normally used in motors to enhance the starting torque and efficiency of the equipment. Emotor starts by drawing a large amount of current, this is because when a motor starts it needs to draw a large amount of current. The capacitor fills this gap by delivering that extra push required to bring the motor to a steady state, thus relieving the electrical system of undue pressure and possibly even lowering energy consumption.
