The Lennox 56W27 Control Limit Blue/Green is a safety switch that helps to protect your HVAC equipment from overheating. Also known as a high limit switch because of its purpose, this is an essentialpart that helps avoid equipment damage and fires. It is located inside your furnace or heating system and measures the temperature inside the system. In the case the temperature goes a little beyond the control limit set, the control limit switch immediately opens the electrical circuit to stall the furnace and avoid further increase in temperature. It may be for the temperature range it controls but the exact temperature at which it shuts down depends on the Lennox system.
