The Trane CNT05001 Defrost Control Board is an essential part of the commercial HVAC systems, especially those that contain heat pumps. This board is the master control for the defrost cycle and it is very effective in its function. This one checks different sensors including refrigerant pressures, outside temperatures and defrost heaters to decide when the defrost cycle is needed. After starting, the board regulates the flow of fans, the reversing valves, and the heaters to eliminate the ice build up on the evaporator coil. This avoids such conditions as low air flow rate, high energy demand and possible harm to the equipment.
