The Carrier HR54ZA006 Blower Door Safety Switch is used to turn off electrical power once the blower compartment access panel or door is opened so that the blower in the HVAC systems and other internal parts cannot be used with the panel open. It is attached at the point of contact with the blower access door and the equipment cabinet, and connected to the control circuit in a manner that when the door is opened the switch contacts are opened.
