The Supco APR5 Adjustable Potential Relay 30A, 110-270VAC, single phase is a voltage sensing relay used to control start capacitors in the capacitor start motors of HVAC systems compressors and pumps. The motor’s Back Electro Motive Force is monitored during startup, when the voltage across the start winding reaches a preset, the relay disconnects the start capacitor and the motor transitions to run mode effectively. Overheating is prevented, the motor components are protected and the start is durable. It is suitable for refrigeration and air conditioning systems, prolongs the motor life, prevents locked rotor conditions and is a universal replacement for most standard potential relays.
