Tekmar Controls 742 Actuating Motor 0-10V

The Tekmar Controls 742 is an actuation motor intended for use in hydronic heating systems. It works by modifying the mixing valves' positions, which regulates the water's temperature as it circulates through the system. The 742 detects movement via a 0–10 volt (DC) control signal. The motor rotates clockwise in response to an applied voltage greater than or equal to 10V, which opens the mixing valve further and permits hotter water to pass through. On the other hand, when the voltage is lower (nearer to 0V), the valve closes and restricts the flow of hot water, causing the water to circulate cooler. The 742 works with a range of brass mixing valves made by Tekmar (models 710 to 724) that are frequently used in hydronic heating systems.
