The Resideo 50000293-004 Media Post Filter is a replacement filter specifically designed for electronic air cleaners. It acts as a final stage filter, capturing larger particles like dust, pollen, and pet dander that have already been trapped by the electronic air cleaner's main filter. This secondary filtration extends the lifespan of the main filter and improves your home's indoor air quality by removing these allergens and pollutants from circulation. The Resideo 50000293-004 Media Post Filter is made of plastic and measures 20 inches by 12.5 inches with a thickness of around half an inch. It's lightweight, weighing around 0.62 pounds, making it easy to install and replace. Since it's a post-filter, it has minimal impact on airflow within your HVAC system.

Product Description:   A "Mediapost filter," more commonly known as a "Media Post Filter," is an essential component used in furnaces and air handlers. It plays a crucial role in filtering and cleaning the air that circulates through the system. The Media Post Filter consists of a specialized filtration medium designed to capture and remove airborne particles, including dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, and other contaminants present in the air. The Resido 50000293-004 Media Post Filter (20X12.5) typically has a high surface area due to its unique design, which allows for efficient particle capture and retention.  Media Post Filters are often rated using the Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) scale, indicating their ability to filter particles of different sizes. Higher MERV ratings signify better filtration performance. These filters are designed to be compatible with a wide range of furnaces and air handlers, making them a versatile choice for HVAC systems. Media Post Filters are generally easy to install and replace. They are often inserted into a designated slot or rack within the air handling unit or furnace. The filtration media is replaceable, typically on a regular schedule, ensuring continued effective filtration. The replacement frequency depends on factors like filter type, usage, and air quality. Media Post Filters offer a cost-effective way to improve indoor air quality, as they are generally less expensive than some other filtration options. By trapping airborne contaminants, Media Post Filters contribute to better indoor air quality, creating a healthier and more comfortable living environment. The Resido 50000293-002 Media Post Filter (20X12.5) offers relatively low airflow resistance, which means that it allows the HVAC system to operate efficiently without excessive pressure drop. In addition to fine particulate matter, these filters are also effective at capturing larger particles such as lint and debris.

Key characteristics of Resideo Mediapostfilter used for furnaces and air handlers are:

  • Mediapostfilter used in furnaces and air handlers in HVAC systems.
  • Provides ample space for effective particle capture and retention.
  • Allows for efficient HVAC system operation without excessive pressure drop.
  • Enhances indoor air quality for a healthier living environment.

Media Post Filters are a vital part of HVAC systems, helping to maintain clean and healthy indoor air while protecting the system from the negative effects of airborne particles. The specific features and capabilities of these filters may vary depending on the manufacturer and the MERV rating of the filter chosen
