The Amana-Goodman BT1369065 3-ton thermal expansion valve for residential and light commercial air conditioning and heat pump systems. TXVs play a important role in refrigeration circuits, by modulating the flow of refrigerant into the evaporator. This valve works on the basis of temperature control. The ambient air is sensed by a bulb connected to the evaporator coil and the refrigerant temperature is also sensed. The sensing bulb pressure also changes with the refrigerant temperature since the two are directly proportional to each other. This pressure variation opens or closes the valve to control the flow of the refrigerant and to avoid the circulation of liquid refrigerant to the compressor.
