The Rheem-Ruud 61-106238-45 is a 6-ton Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) for the heating and cooling systems which utilize R-22 refrigerent. This valve regulates the flow of refrigerant into the evaporator and adjusts according to changes in temperature to offer efficiency in the system. It has a 3/8” BSPT inlet & 7/8” BSPT outlet, a 30” capillary tube. This makes the TXV suitable for large AC & refrigeration systems where it optimizes the system efficiency through steady superheat, avoids evaporator coil freeze and promotes more efficiency. This tight control reduces the amounts of energy and wear used on the compressor and thus increases the equipment’s durability.
