Trane VAL9185 Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) R410A 5 Ton 3/8 X 1/2"

The Trane VAL9185 thermal expansion valve simply a TXV designed to fit within HVAC systems that feature R410A refrigerant. More commonly referred to as a metering device-controls the flow of a refrigerant through the system. The TXV aims at controlling the opening by monitoring the evaporator coil temperature such that it admits the most refrigerant. They ensure that the refrigerant gets the correct amount of evaporation to meet the intended performance before getting to the compressor to reduce damage in this component and improve efficiency. The connections through brazing make it leakproof and the thermal actuator is used for controlling the sink temperature.
