The Trane VAL3630 Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) is located in your Trane air conditioning system and is essentialunlike the basic on/off valves, the TXV is an efficient valve. Through the use of a thermal sensor bulb and a long thin capillary tube in this case 30”, the TXV controls the amount of refrigerant that enters the evaporator coil depending on the temperature. This is essentialso that the coil emulates this function of heat absorption without blocking up the system leading to more serious issues like system damage. The VAL3630 has sweat connections, 15% bleed rate for stable performance, and comes with a 2.5-ton capacity. Constructed from stainless steel it is compatible with R-22 refrigerant and has working pressures up to 500 PSI.
