Trane VAL3523 Thermal Expansion Valve 2 Ton 3/8X1/2"

The Trane VAL3523 is a 2-ton Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) for use with air conditioning and refrigeration systems. It is critical to controlling the flow of the refrigerant within the system allowing it to flow to the gasoline cooler. Because the pressure is controlled automatically by the TXV, the exact amount of liquid refrigerant can get to the evaporator coil. This way, flooding of the coil is prevented hence the reduction in the cooling capacity and efficiency. The temperature and pressure of the refrigerant vapor in the bulb decrease as that of the coil decreases. The pressure drop in the TXV causes a mechanism to open the valve and allow more liquid refrigerant to flow.
