The Rheem-Ruud VA-35-6S 3/4" Suction Line Accumulator is designed to protect the compressor in air conditioning systems, Walk-in coolers and freezers. It protects compressors against a dangerous condition that is called liquid refrigerant slugging. This occurs when liquid refrigerant invades the compressor instead of gas refrigerant which may result to damage and system failure. The accumulator holds liquid refrigerant and also ensures that it does not come into contact with the compressor.
