The ClimateMaster 33B0002N06 Thermal expansion valve (TXV) is an essential part of HVAC systems including heat pumps and air conditioners. This valve controls the refrigerant coming into the evaporator coil when cooling or heating the environment. It works in terms of temperature and pressure. When refrigerant evaporates in the coil, it takes heat hence the TXV changes its opening to allow only the required amount of refrigerant to flow to the evaporator to maintain the required temperature and prevent the liquid refrigerant from flowing to the compressor where it will damage it.
