The Trane COM3193 is a 1.3-ton single-stage compressor designed for home and light commercial air conditioning applications. It runs on a 265-volt power source and is reputable for being dependable and efficient. For this compressor to function, low-pressure refrigerant gas must be drawn in, compressed to a high temperature and pressure, and then pumped to the condenser coil. The heated, high-pressure gas in the condenser returns to liquid form by releasing its heat into the surrounding air. The cycle is completed when the cooled liquid refrigerant reaches the expansion valve, where its pressure is lowered and it absorbs heat from the inside air as it re-evaporates into a gas.
